Experience
Kristi brings a deep commitment to social justice to the firm, as well as extensive mitigation experience. Before law school, she worked as a social worker for people living with HIV/AIDS and those struggling with the challenges of mental illness, drug addiction, and incarceration. Her commitment to social justice continued throughout law school and after—as a Soros Justice Fellow with Texas Defender Service, where she provided direct representation in habeas corpus appeals of indigent Texans under sentence of death, including preparation for Panetti v. Quarterman before the United States Supreme Court. After her fellowship ended, Kristi briefly worked at the Travis County Attorney’s Office prosecuting misdemeanors before joining the firm.
