What Our Peers Say About Us
Having practiced law for twenty-five years, I know there are only a few outstanding lawyers around and I wanted the best to represent my son. I wanted to find someone who had an exceptional reputation with the Bar and the courts. I wanted to find someone that continually studied the law and had practical experience. I wanted to find someone with integrity that would zealously represent my son. I wanted to find someone that I could afford. I wanted to find someone that would preserve my son’s confidences and someone my son trusted and liked. I talked to a number of good attorneys, but the one that met my criteria was David Gonzalez. In hindsight, David exceeded every one of my expectations.
"David is a person of incredible vision, a trial advocate of extraordinary skill, and a man who is equally dedicated to helping his clients and bettering our community. As one who welcomes new ideas and believes that it is beneficial for the legal profession to occasionally question its accepted conventional paradigms, I think that David Gonzalez the attention of all Texas Lawyers (young and old alike)."
For those of us who sometimes fear that the spirit of innovation in the legal profession is too often overshadowed by fixed notions and accepted practices, David Gonzalez is an exciting and inspirational figure. His professional philosophy and accomplishments are wonderful reminders that sometimes the best way to advance the interests of our clients is to carefully reexamine the fundamental premises of our area of practice.
"Today David Gonzalez and his wife Corinne Sumpter operate the most dynamic law firm I have ever encountered. Their goal is to serve their clients and they have put together a team of lawyers, social workers and support staff who do that in a holistic, intelligent and practical manner. They are not in business just to make money but to truly serve their clients who are embroiled in major personal crisis and to help them make constructive changes in their lives."
When I came to know David better, I realized that he chooses to work with clients who might not otherwise have competent representation, whose families do not have the intellectual and financial resources to assist their child who has gotten into trouble. Sumpter & Gonzalez has a social worker on staff and prioritizes helping teenagers who are very much in need of guidance and support.
